Description

White crystals of the extremely rare cadmium mineral lazaridisite (IMA 2012-043) from the famous Tsumeb deposit.

New find from the mine. Only two known localities worldwide.

Cadmium minerals are very rare in Nature, since only 28 from more than 5500 mineral species known are cadmium minerals !.
This is the lowest hydrate of cadmium sulfate currently known to exist in nature; the higher hydrates are voudourisite and drobecite.

Analyzed specimen by SEM-EDS and P-XRD, see copies enclosed.
