Dark orange crystals of the extremely rare mercury mineral comancheite from the type locality in Terlingua, famous for its paragenesis of very rare Hg minerals.

Comancheite is one of the rarest mercury minerals known, with only confirmed two known localities worldwide, both in the Terlingua district.

In addition, it is a bromine containing mineral, only 17 from more than 5400 known minerals are Br-minerals.
