Description

A lot of yellow orange crystals of the new and very rare mineral zincobotryogen (IMA 2015-107) from the famous Bisbee mine in Arizona.

The Zn analogue of botryogen.  A very rare secondary Zn-Fe(III) sulphate formed in the oxidation zone.

Originally described as a new mineral by Kwang-chih et al. (1964) from Xitieshan Pb-Zn deposit, Da Qaidam Co., Haixi Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai (Chinghai) Province, China. Thereafter considered as a mineral that needed reinvestigation. Finally approved by IMA in 2016 (IMA 2015-107).
