Description

Nice growths of lustrous hematite microcrystals that are pseudomorphs after magnetite, the so called martite variety. The original elongated magnetite crystals are of outstanding aesthetics with parallelly growths. Floater and complete specimen, it is mounted on a small socle that is easy to remove if desired. Collecting at the Payún volcano is prohibited nowadays because the zone is now a National Park.

Found in 2009.
