Description

Big specimen very rich in white fibrous crystals of chrysotile-lizardite with a good satine lustre, filling up parallel fractures of a green serpentinite with the fibres oriented perpendicular to the fracture sides. Self-collected on September 2nd, 2015 at the old mines of the Jbel Bou Offroh (Bou Azer).

According to Eyssautier, L. (1952), Notes et Mém. Serv. Géol. Maroc, N°88, this deposit was intensively mined during the Second World War (mainly from 1943 to 1945), and intermittently afterwards until 1950.
