Description

A translucent corundum crystal of a net elongated barrel-like shape and of hexagonal contour, typical for the species. It has rounded edges cause these are found in gem-rich fluvial gravels at the Ratnapura area. It displaying an interesting and uncommon pink fluorescence under long UV illumination.

Found in the Ratnapura area and it was acquired in 08/1978 by Dr. Gerard Vogel.
