Description

Sharp, well-formed crystals of black osumilite of nice hexagonal contour and superb lustre. They reach 2.5 mm in size and are distributed in different vacuoles of the volcanic rock, richly lined by translucent tridymite. Some cavities have thin tabular crystals of phlogopite of a rare red colour, that according to the literature, they are partially to nearly totally replacement by hematite. Ex Georges Vanacker* specimen.

*Vanackerite from Tsumeb was named after him.
