Extraordinary big, uncommon piece from this locality is this specimen of transparent pseudocubic lustrous crystals of hydroxyapophyllite-(K) from Rana (Norway). Hydroxyapophyllite-(K) is the rarest of the apophyllite end-members and these specimens from the Mofjellet Mine are extremely depleted in Fluorine. Interestingly the matrix is composed of snow-white fibrous crystals of thaumasite with satin lustre.

Acquired in 1997. Ex J.Muizebelt.
