Description

A good size specimen of a basaltic andesite rock featuring a long cavity with pale yellow tridymite “star-like” crystals groups, which are penetration twin on {304}. They are tabular pseudo-hexagonal crystals of about 3 mm in size, but some reach 4 mm, while the trydimite twinned groups reach up to 6 mm across, which is of good quality for the species and locality. The entire cavity is also richly spotted by tiny purple spheres, that are probably montmorillonite.

Collected by P.Van Hal in 1985.
