Description

Here is a nice vanadinite specimen from a trip to Morocco in 2015. Crystals are elongated, which is very uncommon in the Mibladen district, and intense resinous lustre. Interestingly, the second generation that overgrow the crystals is located only at the surface, giving the crystals a tube-like aspect. Prospecting the Marguerite Mine with the help of local miners we were able to extract nice matrix specimens of fibrous, brown-caramel, vanadinites with an elongated habit that remind the arsenatian vanadinites from the Erupcion Mine in Mexico. We did analyse the specimens and no As was found.

Self-collected on September 9th/2015.
