Description

Green prismatic crystals of spodumene imbibed in feldspar, from Minas Gerais, Brazil. It was in the Bob Janssens collection (#1811) since 1987. There are other three previous labels: the oldest one reads that it was in the University of Sorbonne, Paris, France (“triphane” #4286). The second label belongs to Deyrolle, an historical mineral dealer of Paris since 1831, and dates back to 1920’s-1940’s. The third one belongs to the collection of Jean Chervet* (specimen #1810).

*Jean Chervet (1904-1962) was a French mineralogist, member of the CEA (Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique), and after whom Chervetite was named.
