Description

Black striated columbite-tantalite, associated to some muscovite, that has been analysed by SEM and resulted to be columbite-(Fe). Lutsiro is an uncommon locality, mostly known for lustrous cassiterite crystals but specimens of the columbite-tantalite group are extremely rare from here. Specimen perfectly located because it was collected by Jacques Deblandre in 1969-70, who was the son a Belgian colonist to Rwanda until middle 70’s. It comes with a copy of his catalogue label.
