Description

Superb and very rare locality specimen of apple-green prismatic crystals of pyromorphite on green pseudomalachite (or reichenbachite) on a brown porous matrix, typical for the Kipushi Gossan. They are richly associated to canary yellow vauquelinite crystals, that form rounded aggregates of tiny lenticular crystals. A similar specimen of the batch was analysed by RAMAN. This specimen is of a super size for locality and it is very rich and well crystallized pyromorphite &vauquelinite. Furthermore, the pyromorphite crystals show an orange fluorescence under short ultraviolet light, which is not common.

Ex. Achiel Moors specimen, a Belgian colonist in the D.R.Congo from 1957 to 1972.
