Description

Very good specimen of baryte from Fleurus, a super classic locality exploited since the end of the 19th Century (1894), that finished the activity in 1991. Small pieces, usually very damaged are not rare in Belgian collection, but this undamaged transparent crystals are not common, particularly in this big size, that surpass 0.5 Kg. Fleurus is an singular sedimentary deposit of cretaceous age, classified as infiltration baryte in a karst developed in carboniferous limestones.

Collected in 1981 by Ludo Van Goethem.
