Description

A nice sample of rutheniridosmine from the alluvial gravels of the Savage River in the Heazlewood district in the green hills of Tasmania / Australia. Rutheniridosmine is a rare alloy consisting of ruthenium, osmium and iridium. Until 1991, the alloy was also known as osmiridium or iridosmium, depending on its exact composition. Samples of this rare alloy are very hard to come by.
