Description

Repcice (german: Rübendörfl or Rübendörfel) is located ca. 12 km SE of Usti nad Ladem (Aussig) and an old and famous location for Chabazite-Ca with significant Strontium contents. The host rock is a sodalite-tephrite. It was a classic location at the times of Josef Emanuel Hibsch, a profound connoisseur of the Bohemian zeolite localities, who mentioned that the location was at least known since 1825 to Johann Wolfgang v. Goethe and others. This specimen is from the 19th century, has a pen and ink label attached and stems from the Dr. F. Krantz stock. Whiteish chabazite crystals settle on host rock matrix. An nice and real classic from Europe.
