Parisite

Rare Mineral

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Mount Malosa, Zomba, Southern Region, Malawi
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.1 × 5.3 × 4.3 cm
Description

Nope - the type locality is not Paris :-) it´s named in honor to the director of the famous Muzo Mine, JJ. Paris. The type-locality is in Brazil. The locality there (Mula-Mine) produced very sharp, fine crystals, but only small. Mount Malose is the most relevant locality for Parisite - no other locality ever produced crystals in this out-standing dimension. What we have here is a complete 40mm tale crystal - the termination is much more sharp as you can see on my photo. It is set on matrix in combination with some tiny Quartz crystals. For sure a mayor piece - even for Malosa. Undamaged.
