Description

This one is really exciting! I am Fluorite collector and saw a lot of different specimen from Ojuela – but never before one like this, not in person, not in books or magazines, neither in museums. The matrix is typically – dark brown-red Limonite. The Fluorite crystals are like we would expect from Ojuela. The show good translucency, sharp termination and this amazing dark violet; purple color. But all other specimen I ever saw before were violet cubes on red brown matrix – this one shows a fabulous contrast with this green layer (most likely Chrysocolla), which is in my evaluation unique!

The Fluorite crystals are up to 26mm, their faces are etched but still glossy. The first photo on light background was done with minor backlight and you can see this intense saturation. The second photo on dark background was done under daylight and displays the specimen under quasi worst light conditions in the shadow without any lamp or mirror. But still under this conditions it is a very eye-catching and aesthetic specimen. No significant damages to report. Ex Prof.Dr. Marc Robert Friedman Collection
