Heulandite & Celadonite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Campos Novos, Santa Catarina, Brazil
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
10.8 × 8.5 × 6.1 cm
Description

A very choice specimen of this extremely unusual, metallic-looking heulandite from a single small find in Brazil. These came out in the mid-90s if i recall, and I have not seen any since then This one is a particularly choice example with sharp, individual crystals to 1 cm or so in size. It is among the very best that I can recall seeing and is much better in person (lustre, color) than it appears in the pics. The contrast of intense red-brown heulandite with dark green seladonite is just wonderful! Very rare and hard to obtain - they came only from one isolated discovery!
