Floater

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Huanggang Mine, Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China (Peoples Republic)
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.5 × 3.6 × 1.6 cm
Description

The Fluorite crystals show light blue color. Their habit is modified with additional faces of rhomb along the edges and modifications of octahedron at the corners. The faces of rhomb show a darker, sharp terminated lavender zoning. Only a few smaller Sphalerite crystals are present at the front-side, but the backside shows a larger area covered with numerous Sphalerite crystals - they show an excellent clarity and high translucency. The Fluorite itself is clear like glass, so when you only give minor backlight to the piece you can see the Sphalerite glowing at the reverse. This is really an amazing and unique effect, you will not find many specimen with such a remarkable, exceptional visual impact. Developed as floater, in excellent condition damage-wise.
