Le Cetine di Cotorniano Mine, Chiusdino, Siena Province, Tuscany, Italy

Size:
4.9 × 3.2 × 2.7 cm
Description

Italian Stibnites are quite rare - you can get hundreds from Romania or China, but a good aesthetic piece from Italy is for sure a rarity. The locality was an old mine, but is already closed since the 50ties. So no new material can be expected and most material is in old collections, today´s market is empty. This piece grew in two generations: First a large main crystal, then in a second step of genesis smaller crystals developed a sphere of end-pointed small individuals. Really a very nice piece and also from a special, rare and uncommon locality.
