Fluorite Quartz & Pyrite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Panasqueira Mines, Covilhã, Castelo Branco District, Portugal
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.6 × 3.2 × 3.1 cm
Description

A very unusual combination: there is one sharp quartz crystal intergrown to an isolated dark violet fluorite cube. Both crystals are completely covered with sparkling, iridiscent pyrite. The habit of fluorite and quartz is better visible in person. A very tridimensional, uncommon and aesthetic specimen! No significant damages to report.
