Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Marienberg, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
10 × 6.5 × 6 cm
Description

The main-crystal is 36mm on edges. Great rarity for fluorite-collectors and exceptional for the locality. The main crystal is a large octahedron - 36mm on edges is a giant for Marienberg. The faces show uncountable very sharp steps. Very difficult, nearly impossible to capture with the camera. Only from the top-view it was possible to show these steps - as seen on detail photo. The crystals show green internal color, the outer zone is dark violet, nearly black. Left and right to the main crystals there are broken crystals which show this internal color. With moderately backlight the outer zone shows the violet color. The main crystal is also complete backside and undamaged.
