Description

A 2.1 cm greenish thortveitite crystal on a matrix of quartz and feldspar. This rare scandium-mineral is one of the most wanted mineral species from Norway.

It was found for the first time by Olaus Thortveit, Iveland, in 1910.

The related Ward label is from around 1945.
