Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Sylvester Mine, Zeehan, West Coast, Tasmania, Australia
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.9 × 5 × 2.3 cm
Description

Bright green pyromorphite crystals to 3mm in length occupy a large portion of the top of this specimen. The sylvester Mine is one of a number of wonderful specimen producing localities in the Zeehan - Dundas district.

Some of the crystals here are terminated while others are not as they have grown across the vugh into matrix, now removed. This gives an interesting circular effect at the end of the crystals as is seen in the photos. No damage.

Comes with a small hand written label that may be one from Keith Lancaster's - a well known Tasmanian collector & author. The label mentions the occurence of hindsdalite, but I could not find any on the specimen.
