Description

This specimen has dozens of lustrous tiny red crystals of the very rare potassium-manganese-vanadate ronneburgite on matrix. Ronneburgite is only found at one locality worldwide, the Lichtenberger Absetzer Mine dump, and was found only in a small amount . This dump together with all other dumps, openpits and mines at the Ronneburg Uranium Deposit have been recultivated totally in recent years. The ronneburgite is associated with some yellow hummerite crystals, also a rare vanadate. A very good sample from the Fritz Rüger collection (the discoverer).
