Floater

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Clara Mine, Oberwolfach, Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
9 × 8.7 × 6.4 cm
Description

Big red-brown translucent cubic fluorite floater from Clara Mine. The faces are lustrous with square texture. With backlit the fluorite shows a touch of blue color. There are two old contacts due to loosening and falling in the cleft, which does not distract from the beauty of this specimen at all. On the back goethite has grown with partly intense, metallic-iridescent patinas (first and fourth photo). The fluorite's size is impressive.
