Description
Locality:
Dornbirn, Dornbirn District, Vorarlberg, Austria
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5 × 6.5 × 2.6 cm
Description

Brown doubly terminated calcite on light gray matrix. Half of the main crystal displays the reddish brown color with a satin finish, which is typical for this location. The other half of the crystal is high-gloss and clear, which makes it possible to see very well into the interior of the crystal that has a multiple zonal color structure. A special feature is the indentation in the center of the crystals. Due to this indentation the calcite has an additional effect. No significant damage to report.
