Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Rucksack Cleft, Weißeck, Muhr, Tamsweg District, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5 × 4 × 3.2 cm
Description

This piece shows a special feature that can only be found in the Rucksack Cleft: the crystals are so strongly parqueted and grown together that the individual cubes are difficult to distinguish. The faces are bowl-shaped with high gloss. Due to the bowl shape, the faces always shine when you move the fluorite. The fluorite is colorless on the outside and shows a light lavender color inside. First and third photo with lowest LED backlighting. A detailed report on this find can be found on my homepage.
