Description

The majority of crocoite specimens available on the market come from the Adelaide Mine. These crocoites are embedded in a soft sandstone matrix, and hence they necessitate careful preparation to keep them stabilized. In contrast, crocoites from the Red Lead Mine, such as the one offered here, formed within the cavities of solid limonite gossan and do not require any treatment. These crystals are not only thicker but also exhibit sharp terminations, vibrant colors, and often delightful transparency. This cabinet specimen is a shining example of the rarity that has become so prized nowadays!
