Named for being the CrO analogue of shuiskite-(Mg). The root name honours Vadim Prokopevich Shuisky (Вадима Прокопьевича Шуйского) (b. 1936), a lithologist and researcher of the sedimentary strata of the Urals, Institute of Geology and Geochemistry, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ekaterinburg, Russia.
