Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4.3 × 3.7 × 1.9 cm
Description

Sharp and lustrous, deep cherry-red rhodonite crystals  on massive galena matrix from the famous Broken Hill deposit of Australia. The large rhodonite crystal is especially fine. The bit of contacting on a couple of smaller rhodonite crystals is certainly not detracting from this showy piece. These came out in the 1960s and earlier and are hard to get today.
