Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Taquaral, Itinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5.8 × 4.1 × 1.7 cm
Description

This is a rich carpet of transparent and excellent developed, elongtaed crystals of  Eosphorit, accompanied by dark olive-gray puffballs of rare Zanazziite. Although the Zanazziite is the more rare species, it is definitely the golden-brown Eosphorite which highlights this great specimen. The Eosphite is highly lustrous, excellent terminated and so far I can see, there is no remarkable imperfection, worth to report. This is a superb, old-timed piece from the heydays of Taquaral,- probably mined in the 1960s-70s:
