Description

Emerald-green pyroxene var. chromian in-grown in quartz and mica matrix. The color is too dark in the pictures and much better in person.

Comes with original hand-written label of A. A. Damour (1808-1902), a well-known french mineralogist.
His personal mineral collection was sold to F. Krantz (who was in charge of the Krantz mineral dealership between 1891 and 1926), probably shortly after his death. Damour was sufficiently famous that Krantz had special labels printed identifying the specimens from the Damour collection without original label supplied.
