Description

I have seen hundreds of prehnite in Tanzania but none were specimen worthy or without serious damage aside from this single piece that is interesting due to its unique color and association. One side is covered with silvery graphite that is effectively an attachment contact where the graphite crystals extend into the green prehnite staining it grey. Equally interesting are the two tanzanite crystals that are partially included into the surface, these seem to be complete yet etched away naturally??

The prehnite exhibits high glassy luster and outstanding radiating blocky form that begins with one cube positioned in the center of the formation flaring out radially into a bulbous like twinning of spheres, an eye catching gemmy green-yellow mass that sparkles intensively.

For good measure an isolated prehnite blade is exposed on the upper surface just to show you how incredibly complex the spheroidal modification is.

The conditions is as near to perfect as I could find with only attachment related contacts.
