Cut and polished  large cabochon of dentritic ruin marble.

 Many varieties of colours and patterns are found, such as the so-called "Arno Green" ("Verde d'Arno"), "Arno Linear" ("Lineato d'Arno"), "Dendritic Stone" ("Pietra dendritica" or "Tigrato d'Arno"), and "Rimaggio Burnt Stone" ("Terra bruciata di Rimaggio"). The material is found under the soil, at a depth from 20 cm to 2 m

A rock consisting of 80% microcrystalline calcite, 16% mixture of clays and silica, and 4% of Fe and Mn oxides, Mg carbonates, and inclusions of marine microfossils) is present along the course of the Arno River, above Florence
