Miniature (4.5-7 cm)

Description

Unusual habit for calcite and I have only found it in a couple of locations at Pine Point. This specimen comes from Pit P-31 and some of the iron has been removed. Iron remains on the dolomite at the back of the specimen.

The mine closed in 1988 and there are about 45 pits with many filled with water to ground level especially the ones located closer to Great Slave Lake.
