Description

Excellent specimen with a copper-red fine crystallized imhofite crystal aggregate on matrix. In association with lots of red realgar crystals.

Specimen from type locality. Imhofite is only known from three localities worldwide. Very rare mineral.

Comes with an informative label from the mineralogical collection of the museum in Basel (Switzerland). The inventory number (L 4157), which is noted on the label, is also attached to the side of the specimen. In addition, the exact date of discovery is noted on the label (December 20, 1965). It is also handwritten that the piece was analyzed by X-ray. On the back of the label it is also noted that Dr. Jung received the piece in 1973. Here you see a well-documented specimen of the best provenience and analytical identification.

Important note: All specimens in this auction are from the renowned collection of Dr. Gerhard JUNG (Hagendorf specialist, after whom the mineral Jungite was named). Dr. Jung was very meticulous regarding the provenance of his pieces.
