Dear friends of minerals, visiting this page means: we share the same passion. I started collecting when I was 10 years old. Luckily I grow up in a famous mineral area, the Siegerland in Germany. Although mining is now a part of history here and all mines are closed - probably forever - there were a lot of opportunities for collecting minerals as I was growing up. This old mining region is world wide known and there is a great variety of wonderful minerals, found especially in old collections (there are not only rhodochrosites from the Wolf Mine/Herdorf, fantastic millerites, bournonites, chalcopyrites, galenas, malachites and so on). I started my mineral business almost 30 years ago. For several years I have run – together with my partner Dorothea Herrmann - a shop in Siegen (which is the center of the Siegerland) called “Kristalle unterm Krönchen". The name of the shop (translates as "crystals under the crown") is after the landmark of Siegen, a little golden crown on top of the Nikolai–church, which is only a few meters away from our shop. My specialities are classic minerals from historic localities (ideally with the original historic labels) and fine minerals from worldwide localities. We exhibit our minerals in several shows during the year in Germany (like the Munich show, Walldorf, Freiberg, Siegen, Bad Ems, etc.) and also Ste.-Marie-aux-Mines in France. After taking part as exhibitors at the Gem & Mineral show in Tucson/Arizona for several years, today we are regular visitors there. In addition we have been organising the local mineral show in Siegen since 2001 (www.siegerlaender-mineralienboerse.de) and we were - together with friends - co-founders and promoters of the “Festival der Kristalle” in Wolfach/Black Forest for the first twelve years. Finally I am an author of publications in magazines, books and newspapers (latest ones: the book “Siegerland & Westerwald”/Bode-Verlag, articles in the book “Harz” /Bode-Verlag and in Eberhard Equits book “Drawings of Mineral Masterpieces”. My intention is to keep records of unusual and rare minerals and present high quality specimens and those with a certain history passing my hands. Glück Auf and enjoy! Norbert Stötzel
