Prasinite (from the greek prásinos) is a fine -grained metamorphic rock of basic composition.
It consists mainly of associations of albite and mafic minerals (chlorite, amphibole and epidote), is usually coloured light green.
It is found in an alpine environment within metamorphic rocks of green schist.
