Lussatite is a an old name for a locality variety of opal CT.

This particular variety was first discovered near Lussat, so gives its name for this mineral.

Generally found as a combination of grey translucent "frog spawn" balls/crusts of the mineral alongside more discrete white balls.

The spheres consist of cristobalite and tridymite microcrystals.
