Description

A cut and polished slab of red pyrope, colorless/green forsterite, and green omphacite.  It also has a light varnished coating to bring out the rare beauty of this specimen.  It is an important indicator rock when searching for deep-source, volcanic pipes.  It forms during subduction over 35 km deep, under high pressure in the mantle.  Comes with its own stand.
