Description

Crystalline, partly light violet diaspore in massive yellowish-white "Dillnite" - a fluor rich zunyite from the classic occurence in the vicinity of Dilln, the german name for Banská Belá in central Slovakia, where it was originally described from.

Comes with very old label dated 1899-1901. The label means: "Diaspor - Dilln / Schemnitz Ungarn - AlOOH = Al2O3 x H20 - Rhombisch, isomorph mit Göthit, in Dillnit (??)" (Diaspor - Dilln / Schemnitz Hungary - AlOOH = Al2O3 x H20 - Rhombic, isomorph with Goethite, in Dillnite (??)).

The area belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire until WW I. An old and rare slowak classic!
