Description

Black crystal group of crystallized wolframite with minor quartz and phyllosilicates from Kamilanga, (Pangi), that was operated by Cobelmin (Compagnie Belge d'entreprises Minières).

Recovered in the late 1950’s by Gabriel Fauvart. Mr Fauvart was working in the port of Antwerp, and he had access to ore shipments, coming to Antwerp, from all around the world. Detailed information of this locality can be found at Prigogine, A. (1956) & Varlamoff, N. (1958). The specimen was included in a sampling paper bag (now completely destroyed) of “J. Nieberding & Fils”. The company “Jules Nieberding & Fils” operated with this name and address after the Second World War, at the Asiadonk (Port of Antwerp), loading, sampling and analysing mineral ores passing through the port.
