Eichenberg, Bregenz District, Vorarlberg, Austria

Small cabinet (7-10 cm)

7.5 × 4.5 × 2 cm
Description

For many years mineralized snails (presumably Turritella) were known only to a few locals in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg. This is the first time we see such pieces entering international markets. The crystals inside of the Turritella are calcite, which is also responsible for the hard layered coating of the fossil. A rare and interesting piece.
