Description

Piece of rock with agate in blueish and reddish colors, hosting a little geode lined with quartz crystals. Inside the geode, white calcite and blackish acicular tourmaline is grown in free crystals. The blueish portions of the agate show a weak green fluorescence in shortwave UV.

From old Dr. Krantz stock, comes with antique label dated 1899!
The label in italian language means:
"Agata con x Calcite e con Tormalina verde-nera.
Loc: Fiume Centa presso Caldonazzo anno 1899 - rarissimo
Questo e l'unico prezzo colla Calite xx e colla Tormalina. Inoltze e l'unica prezzo di quartz color bleu."
(Agate with calcite xls and with green-black tourmaline.
Loc: River Centa near Caldonazzo in 1899 - very rare
This is the only piece with Calcite and Tourmaline. It is also the only piece of blue quartz).
