Description

This slabbed specimen features both several patches of finely disseminated "Cloud Gold" or "Mustard Gold" visible on the polished side only (pic 2) and portions of thicker, crystalline sheets and nugget-like masses as well, visible on both sides side. Associated with crystalline blackish tetrahedrite.
A fine and very rich display specimen from this now defunct, but highly significant Colorado Gold mining area.

Mining in the Silverton-Gladstone area began in the late 1890's and early 1900's, not only for gold but also for silver, lead zinc and copper. The Sunnyside mine was closed in 1991.

One side is rough, the other is sawn and polished.
