Description

This is a small but nevertheless interesting pair of specimens: dark grey to blue grey masses of a sulfide found in the 19th century. One of the specimens (the larger) had a small paper label attached (removed for cleaning) identifying the sample as "Stromeyerin". The main label from an english speaking collector (the specimen comes from a suite at Krantz, Bonn, with M&M and some other old UK collectors) describes the samples as
Composite Copper Glance
a new variety
from Guanajuato, Mexico.
I did not find a reference for stromeyerite occurring in Guanajuato but several other mexican occurrences. I did not analyse the specimen so there may be the risk of a false ID.

Size is for the bigger of the two samples.
