Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Cassandra Mines, Aristotelis, Chalkidiki, Central Macedonia, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5.3 × 5.2 × 3.4 cm
Description

Greek stibnite is rare and the best examples of the variety from Greece come from this small and old occurrence in the Cassandra mines. I had the luck of recently acquiring all of the remaining pieces from the local market and this is one of my last remaining examples - a very good one. I must note that most were etched by local sellers while this is a natural example with the stibnites still embedded in the calcite.
