Description

A pseudomorph after two twinned staurolite crystals (St. Andrews Crox) from a very rare locality: Mushao (Rwanda). According to Buttgenbach (1947) “Les minéraux de Belgique et du Congo Belge”, pg 349, these staurolite crystals have been completely replaced by a mixture of kyanite, muscovite, chlorite and quartz. Morphologically these could be confused with those staurolite twins from Fundabiabo, Katanga (D.R.Congo), which are not pseudomorphs. Very uncommon locality pseudomorph. Exchanged in 1961 by Eudore Toussaint.
